Donna L. White
Principal Consultant & Owner
Donna White is the Principal Consultant and Owner of Legacy Consulting Services and Legacy Billing Solutions in Montgomery, Alabama. Her expertise, refined through almost three decades working in the healthcare field, includes revenue cycle management, healthcare consulting, leadership development, medical billing and coding, dental billing and collections, data analytics, HIPAA training, policy and procedure development, training and management.
Donna’s passion is making office operations and companies more efficient and improving the bottom line. She consults with Legacy Consulting clients to review and recommend changes for front and back-office administrative, revenue cycle and operational processes. She excels in financial analysis, contracting, revenue cycle management and business development strategies.
Her vast experience includes all aspects of revenue cycle management, patient intake, insurance and charge entry as well as claim submission, cash posting, accounts receivable, billing integrity audits, contract renegotiations, practice management and EHR system implementations and more. She reviews and trains clients in revenue cycle best practices. Donna brings years of experience as a former VP of Revenue Cycle Management for 650 physical therapy clinics. Her background includes the supervision of 8 regional CBOs and 450 employees. Among Donna’s top achievements is increased net revenue for organizations, decreased denial rates, reduced charge error rates, implementation of business office policies and procedures that decreased accounts receivable timeframes, contract renegotiations resulting in improved reimbursement and much more.
In addition, Donna is experienced in managing physician and hospital billing and account receivables. She is also proficient in charge master (CDM) set-up and management. She understands the denial management process, identifies payer challenges, performs root cause analysis and interprets and ensures compliance guidelines are followed, according to federal regulations.
As a certified member of the John Maxwell team, Donna also focuses on growing leadership teams. She has a passion to grow leaders to help businesses succeed. She truly believes that “leadership ability is the lid that determines a person’s level of effectiveness.” The higher you want to climb, the more you need leadership. Brittany Dawson
Office Manager and Revenue Cycle Specialist
Brittany has over ten years of experience in the insurance and medical billing field. As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, she has a vast knowledge of the Revenue Cycle and excels at detail-oriented projects as well as Billing, Posting, and Accounts Receivable for multiple Legacy Clients including hospitalists, primary care physicians, and physical therapy.
Additionally, Brittany is the Office Manager for Legacy and ensures everything from bookkeeping, organizational materials, and day-to-day operations of the office run smoothly. She is the first face clients and customers see and Legacy could not be prouder for her be that representative.
Brittany has extensive knowledge of numerous medical billing systems including Allscripts, Kareo, RainTree, eClinical Works, and Medisys, as well as programs like Freshbooks and Quickbooks. She enjoys her work and believes the achievements of Legacy and our clients is her success.
Jennifer A. Geoppinger
Sr. Revenue Cycle Consultant
Senior Revenue Cycle and Healthcare Consultant, Jennifer Geoppinger, has spent over a decade working in all aspects of Healthcare Revenue Cycle and Consulting.
Jennifer is a revenue cycle and healthcare administration subject matter expert. She performs the role of consultant, project manager, systems implementation specialist, and reimbursement supervisor for multiple client teams. Jennifer also handles contracting and credentialing, manages practice management and EHR system implementations, as well as file maintenance oversight at hospitals, clinics, and physician practices across the country. Her experience includes day-to-day financial and clinical system functionality, reporting, financial analysis, as well as back-office billing, file maintenance, end-user training and training documentation. She also has oversight over numerous clients for which Legacy performs medical billing services.
She has also honed her skills in payor credentialing and contract negotiations, working with payors and practices of all sizes and specialties across the country. From obtaining the necessary information from providers, assisting with CAQH and PECOS profile set ups, to completing the facility and individual payor applications, letters of interest and consistent follow up needed to see credentialing through to completion, Jennifer assists Legacy’s clients with obtaining necessary contracting and credentialing within tight timelines. Her goal is to expeditiously work with payors, complete applications and handle follow-up to ensure that offices and providers become in-network and reimbursed as quickly as possible.
Jennifer has worked extensively with a wide variety of EMR and medical billing systems including eClinical Works, Greenway, Allscripts, RainTree, Medisys, WebPT, Therabill, Kareo, Dentrix Enterprise, Healthland, NextGen Ambulatory and NextGen Financials/Clinicals for hospitals, Misys PM and Medical Manager. She is passionate about troubleshooting for her clients in whatever capacity they need and helping them to be more effective.
Sally Wiggins
Revenue Cycle Consultant
Sally’s role as Revenue Cycle Consultant at Legacy consists of numerous client projects – such as contracting and credentialing, revenue cycle assessments, billing integrity audits, LEAN process improvements and much more. With over 14 years of experience in the healthcare consulting field, Sally previously served as the Director of Quality for the Alabama Hospital Association and as a Lean Leader for Baptist Health System in Birmingham, AL. Utilizing Lean tools and concepts, she has been involved with various projects, across both hospital and physician office settings, that focus on reducing waste, improving efficiency and, ultimately, increasing process value. She is passionate about helping clients through change management and seeing positive impacts to their bottom line. Sally has been extremely successful helping clients find their pain points through reporting in numerous EHR systems.
She then works with them to find the answers to these challenges to lead each client through to successful change. Sally also has extensive experience with data collection, data analysis and reporting, and more importantly, utilizing data to change processes and create a culture of continuous improvement.
Sally was born and raised in Montgomery and then received her BS from Auburn University and her MBA in Supply Chain Operations Management from the University of Alabama. She enjoys being back in her hometown with her husband, Raley, and their two daughters, Emily and Virginia.
Carissa Horton
Revenue Cycle Consultant
With more than 15 years of revenue cycle and technology experience, Carissa specializes in revenue cycle management, medical and dental billing oversight, claims submission for accuracy and compliance, bookkeeping and much more. She has also worked in Information Technology as a Systems Analyst. As a Revenue Cycle Consultant and member of the Legacy Consulting team, she has extensive experience working in the healthcare reimbursement field, dealing with hospitals, physician practices and physical therapy offices. Additionally, Carissa has assisted with practice management and EHR system implementations, training and file maintenance support for healthcare practices across the Southeast. She supports clients with processes and procedures that ensure optimum reimbursement for services performed while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Carissa’s multiple strengths include attention to detail, understanding of workflow processes and creative thinking.
Carissa is also a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer, and coach. She can offer workshops, seminars, keynote speaking, and coaching, aiding personal and professional growth through study and practical application of John’s proven leadership methods. Working together, she will move you and/or your team or organization in the desired direction to reach your goals.
Dessa Varnadore
Revenue Cycle Specialist
Dessa is a Revenue Cycle Specialist and has been in the insurance and medical billing field for over twenty years. As a revenue cycle subject matter expert, she follows industry standard best practices to ensure all billing, rejections, denials and A/R are worked timely and correctly. Posting is always complete and reconciled back to the bank with the client. She had been responsible for multiple Legacy clients including hospitalists, geriatric care, primary care, physical therapy, psychotherapy and even dental.
Her unique experience and perspectives have led to repeatedly satisfied clients. She has extensive knowledge of numerous medical billing system including Valant, RainTree, eClinical Works and Medisys. Dessa is a reliable team member who is extremely focused and proficient in her work. Her client’s success is her success.
Jennifer S. Lambert
Senior Credentialing Specialist
Jennifer’s credentialing career began in 1999 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, of Concord, North Carolina, where she refined her skills from the ground up during her twenty-year tenure. As a trusted point of contact among the providers and her peers, she maintained the license and credentials of the physicians and midlevel practitioners under their Physician Network, their enrollments and revalidations for managed care and government participation, as well as practice location set up and credentialing. She also designed a universal enrollment packet for the onboarding process to streamline the credentialing requirements between Medical Staff, Payor, and Malpractice Insurance.
In her credentialing role at Legacy Consulting Services, Jennifer values teamwork and strong work-ethics. She is diligent with facilitating various key components of the credentialing processes for providers, such as Medicare’s Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) and the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) Provider Data Portal. When it comes to payor enrollment processes, she believes in best practices by being highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with clients. Her effective communication skills, dependability, and critical thinking help to ease client burdens. She is efficient with follow-ups and time-sensitive requirements, as well as maintaining checks and balances with provider license and credentials.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Services from the University of Phoenix in Arizona and a Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University of Misenheimer, North Carolina. A native of Concord, North Carolina, she resides in rural Rockwell with her husband, Van. They have a grown daughter and son-in-law, and one grandson. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys traveling, raising her small flock of hens, and family time spent in Hyde County NC where they like to fish inshore. She also writes for fun through her blog, Salty Cottage Studio.
Stacy Ross
Contracting Manager
Stacy has over fifteen years of experience in the Medical Insurance and Billing field, with the last eight of those years being in contract negotiation and management. Throughout her experience, Stacy has honed and perfected her negotiating and relationship-building skills to ensure that providers are receiving the best possible reimbursement rates from payors. Stacy has worked with insurance carriers all over the United States and has built strong relationships with major payors.
As a Payor Contracting and Contract Negotiation Specialist, Stacy has impeccable written and verbal communication skills and can remain firm, but professional during the negotiation process. She is also extremely detail-oriented, excellent with contract review and assessments, and relentless in the review and negotiation process. When Stacy is not focused on pursuing or renegotiating contracts for Legacy, she also assists with the credentialing process --- from online network participation requests to letters of interest and completion of facility and individual provider applications, she works to ensure that clients can begin seeing patients as soon as possible.
Stacy received her B.A. in Public Relations and Communications from the University of Alabama and works in the St. Louis area where she lives with her two children, Madeline and Jackson.
David L. White
Leadership Consultant
David served in the field of Education for 25 years in the State of Alabama. David attended college at the University of Alabama and graduated with BA degree in History and a minor in Political Science and Marketing.
He began his career as a Teacher and then moved to Assistant Principal and Principal, before going back into the classroom for the remainder of his career.
He decided to retire from teaching in October 2016 and came to work with Legacy Consulting Services as our Operations Consultant.
With his history as both Teacher and an Administrator, David understands the importance of organizing people around their abilities and interests, which is why he became a Certified Independent Coach with the John Maxwell team.
He now serves as a Leadership Consultant and assists with the many facets of our growing business.
Susan C. Neely
Senior Credentialing and Contracting Specialist
As a Senior Credentialing and Contracting Specialist at Legacy Consulting Services, Susan brings with her decades of expertise in credentialing and provider management. She has excelled in roles ranging from public health to private practice management.
Susan's major achievements include mastering credentialing in multiple specialties, with commercial and governmental payers, across numerous states. Her current focus lies in projects ensuring providers are in network with payors and facilities to provide optimal patient care.
Her professional philosophy centers around the patient as the focal point, driving her commitment to efficient and accurate provider enrollment, credentialing and privileging processes. Susan’s diverse background in healthcare management underscores her dedication to maximizing revenue streams through effective provider enrollment and maintenance. Her career reflects a deep commitment to healthcare excellence, credentialing proficiency, and patient-centered practices.
Susan lives in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains with her husband Ted, with whom she shares two grown daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys playing in a band, quilting and upcycling.
Elizabeth Tomasik
Revenue Cycle Consultant
Elizabeth has over 25 years of valuable experience in the medical field. During her journey, she acquired the art of being an excellent communicator, learned the importance of adhering to her principles and moral compass, to always choose the positive road and never lose her thirst for knowledge. At Legacy, she has taken her skills and knowledge of the Revenue Cycle to the next level.
Her experience encompasses multi specialties including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal and Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, Pathology, and Anesthesiology.
Elizabeth excels in her ability to overturn denials via the appeal process. She has a track record of submitting successful multi-level appeals, retro authorization requests and medical necessity letters. Because of her knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, she understands National, Local Coverage Determinations, Clinical Guidelines and Coverage Policies as well as the criteria required to establish medical necessity.
Elizabeth has a passion for community volunteer service and has participated in disaster relief post natural disasters. She is part of a non-profit global organization that promotes family values through education and practical knowledge. She enjoys creative projects and spending time with her family.
